Celebrating 35 Years at Salvajor
Aug 2019We would like to thank our Engineering Manager, Tim Dike for 35 years of service.
Prior to Salvajor, Tim attended college, majoring in computer science. He took every class available, at several colleges, for this new field of computers.
Tim started his career at Salvajor working in our factory as an assembler. He worked his way up to drill press operator, sheet metal fabricator and eventually, assistant plant manager. After 7 years in the manufacturing plant, Tim approached Salvajor about using CAD to design their parts and machines. Salvajor had the program, but it was only used as a symbol library, nobody knew how to use it. He was taken up on his offer and became the first design coordinator for the company. During this time, he also interned under the engineer to learn all he could about Salvajor design. Eventually Tim became the engineering manager and we hope he stays for many years to come.
Tim trivia:
Not only was Tim the first to use CAD at Salvajor he was also the first to use a PC at the office.
Tim set up the first network at Salvajor and maintained it for many years.
Tim was a member of the naval reserves, proudly serving our country for 8 years.
